Irritated and annoyed with constantly looking at Yahoo!, AVG or Norton Security toolbars? It’s incredibly simple to turn them off – just follow the simple steps for your preferred browser:
Steps
In Firefox
- Click the Tools menu.
- Click Add-ons.
- Click below the scroll box on the scroll bar until you see Yahoo Toolbar. AVG Security toolbar, or Norton Security Toolbar.
- Click Disable.
In Internet Explorer
- Click the Tools menu.
- Click Manage Add-ons.
- Click Toolbars and Extensions,
- Click below the scroll box on the scroll bar until you see Yahoo Toolbar. AVG Security Toolbar, or Norton Security Toolbar.
- Click Disable.
In Opera
- Click the View menu.
- Point to Toolbars.
- Uncheck Yahoo, AVG Security, or Norton Security.

- Do not mess with any other add-ons unless you put them there or you know what you’re doing.

Won’t work with Norton Toolbar.
Norton has made its Toolbar for Firefox “Disable only” — you can’t uninstall it. You can disable it until you reboot.
When you reboot your computer, it reappears.
And then you would have to Disable and restart Firefox.
And on and on…
I used to be able to use my address bar (firefox) as a search engine, but now it’s using AVG safe search which I’m not too happy about, how can I change this?
